It is not easy for families to be able to manage an eating outing or event. Sometimes the environment may affect the individual's tolerance for too much sensory information. Sometimes maybe its just not easy to handle stares from the public who may not understand things quickly or have patience for a difficult situation. But every family just wants to enjoy their meal with their loved ones. That's why, I hope more cafes and restaurants, open themselves up to be neurodiverse friendly, then our city will become more inclusive. I hope in time there will be an app, promoting inclusive cafes, promotions and support for the community. Let's dream and hope it comes true.

If you have a friend who is the owner of a chain of restaurants, or cafes, do try to encourage them to join this, and I can starting listing more locations for families to enjoy their meals at ease.

Lina’s Café is a “Friends of Autism” Café, that provides families with ASD kids to dine in a safe and judgement free zone. Every family of 4 that dines with their spectrum kid, will have their 1st drinks free. There are also books about Autism sold there. Try their Mee Rebus, Ondeh-ondeh and Pandan Mille Crepe!
