Employment programmes cater specifically to give learners a structured approach to gain employment experience, skillsets and have opportunities to give back to society. EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMMES
Employment Support Programme (ESP) @ SPD
SPD offers training courses to people with disabilities to increase their employability and equip them with abilities necessary for the workplace. Training courses in computer skills, job-specific skills and work preparation are offered to equip trainees for employment.
Persons with disabilities will undergo vocational training and employment planning assessments before being recommended suitable training courses.
*more than 50 training courses can now be funded by the PSEA. These courses are in many different domains including music, IT and hospitality. Students with SEN may now tap into their PSEA to attend SPD’s training courses on the use of digital tools like tablet and Photoshop, and effective communication.

Sheltered Workshop @ SPD
The Sheltered Workshop is both a place for employment and vocational training for people with disabilities. The projects and small contract work that we secure from various organisations provide a real work environment for our trainees, thus improving their future employment prospects.

TRAINING PROGRAMMES @ SGENABLE
- Training programmes which equip them with a variety of skills, ranging from work preparation to vocational skills, for work in open employment.
- WSG Open Door Programmes (ODP) to fund to upgrade their skills through training.
CAREER / VOCATIONAL / EMPLOYMENT PATHWAY @ METTA
- The Career Programme caters for our students between the ages 13 to 16 years old, preparing them for vocational skills training and/or employment.
- The Vocational Programme is a certification programme that caters to selected students aged 17 years and above.
- Employment Pathway Programme (EPP) is put in place for students who are not on the Vocational Certification track, to transit from school to work upon graduation at age 18. It includes the students from MID programme and ASD programme.
APSN Centre for Adults & APSN Social Enterprise
APSN Centre For Adults, which has its early beginnings in the Vocational Training Centre at Katong School, has been devoted to training former APSN students and helping them find jobs in the open market since 1980. Clients learn basic skills such as cooking, cashiering, sales, cleaning and gardening. Some also learn more specialized skills such as grass-cutting where they are taught to operate lawn mowers, hand-held grass trimmers and blowers.
APSN SOCIAL ENTERPRISE, equip our clients through best practices in education, training and support services, for open employment and life-long learning. Our clients are persons with special needs, aged 17 and above. APSN Bakery & Mystical Cafe provide trainees with special needs an avenue to gain exposure, and equip them with skills.

GRACE ORCHARD VOCATIONAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMME
- Students from the Mild Intellectual Disability programme will be placed in the Vocational Education Programme at age 13, untill they graduate at either 16, 17 or 18 years old.
- The Work Experience programme is a formal, structured programme whereby the school makes plans for students to experience a job or part of a job in an authentic work setting.
Students placed on the Work Experience programme will be assigned a Job Coach each, who will provide them support and guidance on the job. - The school cafe (Gopi-O!) is an authentic platform for students to be exposed to cafe operations aligned to industrial standards. Students can also be trained in work habits at the cafe.
Goodwill, Rehabilitation and Occupational Workshop (GROW)
Goodwill, Rehabilitation and Occupational Workshop (GROW) is a sheltered workshop that provides vocational training and sheltered employment for adults aged 16 years old and above with Cerebral Palsy and other associated disability conditions.
