People with SLD will face being criticised as lazy or slow.
What they need is understanding, and give them the same information in another way.
Individuals with SLD might lose their self-esteem, and self-worth.
It is imperative to presume competence and focus on using Strength-based approaches.

RECEIVING THE RIGHT SUPPORT
Dyslexic pupil, Jack Harley-Walsh who was rejected by 30 schools now thriving in Wales. Jack has severe dyslexia and discalculia, which means he struggles with both reading and spelling, and with numbers. This chart shows the fundamental build of how we receive information in order to learn. Level 1 & 2 is receiving information through our body senses. There are of course 8 sense inputs, but this is a rough idea of how our brain helps us learn.
