Specific Learning Difficulties is the most misunderstood for individuals when it comes to learning, organising as well as receiving and giving information.


People with SLD will face being criticised as lazy or slow.
What they need is understanding, and give them the same information in another way.



Individuals with SLD might lose their self-esteem, and self-worth.
​It is imperative to presume competence and focus on using
Strength-based approaches.

GETTING MISUNDERSTOOD

This Video shows how a Specific Learning Difficulty can affect an individual's self confidence, self-esteem, and as they are not easily noticeable, they can be hidden and easily gets misunderstood.
With a diagnosis, the individual's educators can provide more fair approach to teach and support the indvidual's needs.

RECEIVING THE RIGHT SUPPORT

Dyslexic pupil, Jack Harley-Walsh who was rejected by 30 schools now thriving in Wales. Jack has severe dyslexia and discalculia, which means he struggles with both reading and spelling, and with numbers. This video shows exactly how students with SPLD with the right and sufficient support given to their needs, are able to learn happily and gain confidence.

This chart shows the fundamental build of how we receive information in order to learn. Level 1 & 2 is receiving information through our body senses​. There are of course 8 sense inputs, but this is a rough idea of how our brain helps us learn. 

Without regulation of the sense inputs, the quality of learning will be affected.
